Robert Pattinson on Edward Cullen:

Why is Edward so alluring?
What I never really understood about his attractiveness, especially to young girls, is his gentlemanliness. I thought that teenage girls like the dangerous aspect of males, and so I tried to emphasize the danger and make the more gentlemanly side of this character a veil to something else underneath. I really tried to make him an incredibly strong and powerful character, but at the same time self-loathing and extremely vulnerable.

So you saw Edward as sometimes vulnerable?
Yes. When his life is put into basic terms, he has nothing to live for and all he wants to do is either become a human or die. The only reason that he hasn’t died is because he is too scared; he doesn’t think that he has a soul. Then he meets Bella, who makes him feel like a human and feel alive again. At the same time, her human vulnerability makes him incredibly vulnerable, because even with his super speed and his super strength, he still can’t fully protect her. Whenever she is in danger, he is in danger. If she dies or goes anywhere, then he is gone, too.

Kristen Stewart on Twilight:

What was your initial impression of the project?
I thought it was really ambitious, this portrayal of the ultimate, most epic love story that could be. Also, Bella is not a typical female lead. The power balance between her and Edward is really skewed. Edward is this confident, perfect, idealistic man, although deep down he’s actually really afraid. Bella is naïve but also sure-footed. Whatever it is inside of her that drives her is stronger than she is. She just trusts the shit out of herself.

Edward, played by Robert Pattinson, and Bella share a very intense love in this film. How was it working with Robert?
Well, I basically cast him. We did one day of auditions and a bunch of guys came in. Catherine Hardwicke, the director, afterwards was like, “What do you think? This is such a hard choice.” I was like, “Are you kidding me!? It’s such an obvious choice!” It couldn’t have been better. It was sort of perfect.

At the UK premiere in Leicester Square, stars Vanessa Hudgens, 19, Zac Efron, 20, Ashley Tisdale, 23 and Corbin Bleu, 19,  were greeted by thousands of excited young fans, many wearing High School Musical outfits and clutching pictures of their idols. Love Bug - Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers deliver sweetness and honesty in “Love Bug” off their newest album A Little Bit Longer (in stores and online now).

A cute catchy song you’ll likely find on your tweens’ playlist this fall, “Lovebug” starts out as a sweet-tempered acoustic love song before ending up a crashing Queen-like rocker.

“The lyrical content has gotten more in-depth,” says Nick Jonas of the new album. “It’s about who we are as people and our personal lives, things we’ve gone through in the past 12 months.”  In the new album’s 12 songs – all written by Jonas Brothers – they put their feelings on the line, while still rocking the house as only they can.

Young, talented, fashionable and enjoying every minute of life, oldest brother, Kevin shares, “We wake up every morning excited, because we get to do what we love.”

Rumor has it that the trio will be extending their reach into fashion soon. Hmmm….

Video clip of JB performing Love Bug at the MTV VMAs.

Now I’m speechless, over the edge
I’m just breathless
I never thought that I’d catch this Lovebug again
Hopeless, head over heels in the moment
I never thought that I’d get hit by this Lovebug again

I can’t get your smile out of my mind
[I can't get you out of my mind]
I think about your eyes all the time
You’re beautiful but you don’t even try
[You don't even, don't even try]
Modesty is just so hard to find

The Joke’s on Zac Efron

Here’s one for your kids.

Check out this funny video of Zac Efron on the set of High School Musical 3 this summer the victim of a well-planned prank.

Water guns, toilet paper, laughter - good, clean fun.

Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens appear.

The NEW Beverly Hills 90210

As a late devotee to the original long-running Beverly Hills, 90210 in the 1990s, I am eagerly anticipating the season premier of the new contemporary spin-off,  90210, airing on the CW network on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Most of us from the original 90210 era do not have kids old enough to enjoy the new show, but I can guarantee that the new version will be filled with the same gossip, clics, malice and DRAMA that we enjoyed as teenagers so long ago.

Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth of the original series are scheduled to make appearances during the season.

If you can’t wait until Tuesday, here’s a teaser video.

The  September 2008 issue of Elle features a smokin’ photo shoot of Vanessa Hudgens (19), Ashley Tisdale (23) and Zac Efron (20). All star in the upcoming High School Musical 3 feature film set to be released on October 24.

The modern Grease shoot showcases a very mature and edgy side of the three young-adults.  Wow! They all look incredible.

These photos will certainly succeed in broadening their adult fan base.

On a style note, these photos are filled with some fabulous pieces by Oscar de La Renta, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi and Christian Louboutin. Love the mix of leather, cotton and silks. A great taste of early Fall 2008.

Although we can’t see much of it, Vanessa’s shirt-dress (above left photo) by Fendi, $2,690 looks light, feminine and pretty.

Love Ashley’s floral print and Vanessa’s lace-trim yellow silk Roberto Cavalli dresses (above right photo).  Zac’s cotton poplin shirt $1,015 by Dior Homme is so sharp and sexy.

Love the pic of Ashely with her dog, Maui. Her Oscar de la Renta cashmere and silk tank top, $790 and silk and wool printed skirt, $3,290 are so feminine and pretty.  Suede pumps, Christian Louboutin, $660. Monogram canvas dog carrier, Louis Vuitton, $2,000. Great photo!

More  photos after the jump.
