Love the Small Lunch Box from Lunchsense for $35.  It  opens to form a tray to eat on.  Available in a delightful range of bright colors, this is a great and functional product. Comes with three containers a drink bottle and ice pack.

Pottery Barn Kids also has a collection of a la carte kids sized lunch box items.  I cannot vouch for the durability, but the prices ($10 - $20) are reasonable and design simple and functional.

BEST BUY: Lands End makes a great stainless steel insulated container. 2 for $15.  We have a handful of these and rotate them throughout the week. Easy for little hands to open and keeps the food warm all day!
