A mix of 1960s & 1970s chic, Tory Burch delivers timeless and bold pieces in her Fall 2008 Ready to Wear collection. Her show was held at Christie’s auction house in New York on February 5, 2008. Burch has developed an unusually strong brand, demonstrating once again why thousands of women are hooked on her classics. Myself included!

Her Fall collection is ladylike, but eccentric and quirky.  Tweedy and Hitchcockian, nautical, and a bit Joni Mitchell. Love the peacock-feather and beetle prints, and mix of fabrics/prints.  The clothes are polished, but still fun.

Almost daily I give thanks to the shoe gods for the abundant array of hip, cute and COMFORTABLE flats. I LIVE in flats.  I have to admit that at one time I sacrificed by feet and pedicured toes for the  sake of fashion, but no more. I wholly admire those Moms who endure the pain of sexy and leg lengthening heels, but for me, once I went flat, I couldn’t go back. My collection of beautiful heels have sat quietly collecting dust, secretly grateful not to hear my incessant complaints of how uncomfortable they are.

I’d love to buy this pair of Miu Miu’s ($650 at NM), but after my last designer pair was bathed in apple juice and massaged under my son’s muddy sneakers I decided I would just admire from afar.  Better to spend $150 and not fret over a trip to the park or a little (or a lot) of kid goop. Love JCrew for their simplicity and cute prints.

I have to admit that I am a sucker for black and bright colors.
